Who we are

This website belongs to Designers Floors LLC, a flooring sales and installation company serving Metro Detroit and surrounding communities. “We” and “us” on this page mean Designers Floors LLC.

What we collect when you ask for an estimate

When you send the Free In-Home Estimate form, we receive:

• your name and phone number;
• your email address, if you choose to give it;
• your ZIP code or city;
• the flooring types you ticked and your message, if any;
• the page you sent the form from and the date and time.

We do not ask for payment details, and the website does not store your IP address.

Why we use it

We use this information only to contact you about your estimate: to call you, arrange the in-home visit and answer your questions. We do not sell it, we do not use your contact details for advertising, and we never send them to Google Analytics or Google Ads.

This is separate from the website usage information that Google Analytics collects while you browse the website (such as the pages you view). That information can be used for advertising-related purposes, as explained under “Website statistics and cookies” below.

What happens after you send the form

Your request is saved in our website's database, where only our administrators can see it after signing in. We are then sent an email notification with the details of your request so we can call you back.

Customer reviews

After a job, we may send you a personal link to write a review. Using it is up to you. If you do, we receive the name you ask us to show, your star rating, your review and your city, if you give it, with the date. We publish these on this website for other customers to read, so please do not include anything you would not want to be public. The review form does not ask for your phone number or email address.

Website statistics and cookies

To understand which pages are useful, the website keeps basic statistics about page views: the page, the date and time, the website that linked to us (its address only), campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), the device type, the browser and operating system family, whether the visit looks automated. It does not store your IP address or the full technical description of your browser.

The website uses these cookies:

• df_sid: a random identifier that groups the pages viewed in one visit. It contains nothing about you and expires 30 days after your last visit. If you send the estimate form, the same identifier is saved with your request, so we can see which pages led to it.
• df_af and df_msg: short-lived security and form cookies that protect the estimate form and show the thank-you message. They end when you close your browser.

We also use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to count visits and see how people find and use the website, including visits that come from our Google ads. It starts when a page loads and sets its own cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID), which last up to two years. Google receives details such as the pages you view, the website that linked to you, your device and browser, and your IP address, from which it works out an approximate location.

Our Google Analytics account is linked to our Google Ads account and uses Google’s advertising features, including Google signals. This means Google may use this website usage information for measurement and advertising-related purposes, for example to show how well our ads work, to count visits from the same person on different devices, and to build groups of past visitors that we can show our ads to. If you are signed in to a Google account and have allowed personalized ads, Google may connect this information with your account. Google handles it under its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

When you send the estimate form, the website tells Google Analytics only that a request was sent. Your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code or city, and message are never sent to Google Analytics or Google Ads.

The website does not show a cookie banner, so Google Analytics runs unless you stop it. You can block cookies in your browser, use Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or turn off personalized ads at adssettings.google.com. The website still works if you block cookies, but the estimate form needs its security cookie to send your request. If you block cookies, please call us instead.

Service providers

We use a few companies to run the website for us. They handle your information only to provide their service to us, except that Google may also use Google Analytics information for its own purposes as described above:

• SmarterASP.NET, which hosts the website and its database;
• Cloudflare, which provides our domain name and network security services, stores and delivers the photos on the website, and checks estimate form submissions for spam (Cloudflare Turnstile runs in your browser on pages with the estimate form);
• Resend, which delivers the email notification of your request to us;
• Google (Gmail), whose mailbox receives that notification;
• Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), which measures website visits and estimate requests and provides the advertising features described above.

How long we keep it

• Estimate requests: we normally keep them for up to 24 months after the last activity on the request or job, and then delete them. We may keep a request longer when we need it for legitimate business, legal, warranty, dispute or record-keeping reasons.
• Customer reviews stay on the website until you ask us to remove yours or we take it down.
• Page-view statistics are deleted automatically after 13 months.

Your choices

You never have to use the form: you can call us instead. To ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct it, delete your request or remove your review, contact us at 313-720-4235.
